This Privacy Policy explains how African Business Revolution ("ABR", "we", "us"), part of the Africa Venture Group (AVG) ecosystem, collects, uses and protects personal data when you visit businessrevolution.africa or interact with our forms, newsletter and community programs.
1. Data we collect
We collect the information you provide directly through our forms:
- Founding 1,000 / Community sign-up: first name, last name, email, country, role, organization, and optionally WhatsApp number.
- Newsletter subscription: email address.
- Academy waitlist: name and email.
- Partner inquiries: name, email, organization and message.
- Contact form: name, email and message.
We also collect limited technical data automatically through Google Analytics 4 (pages viewed, approximate location, device type, referral source) once you have given cookie consent — see our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How we use your data
We use the data above to: respond to your inquiries; send the newsletter and updates you signed up for; manage the Founding 1,000 community and Academy waitlist; process partnership and speaking requests; and understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it.
3. Legal basis
We process your data based on your consent (when you submit a form or subscribe) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving African Business Revolution's platform and community.
4. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share it with service providers who help us operate the site (e.g. email delivery, hosting, analytics providers such as Google Analytics), who are only permitted to use it to provide that service to us.
5. Data retention
We keep your data for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described above, or until you ask us to delete it.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, or to withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in each email). To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@africaventuregroup.com.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption and spam-protected forms.
8. Children's privacy
African Business Revolution is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
